Overview
Okta Verify is a secure authentication application required for accessing My.Westcliff. As part of our enhanced security measures, SMS-based authentication has been replaced with Okta Verify to provide stronger protection against phishing attacks and unauthorized access.
Effective Date: SMS authentication will be discontinued on April 11, 2026. All users must enroll in Okta Verify to access My.Westcliff.
Self-Service Setup Instructions
Step 1: Download Okta Verify
- iPhone/iPad: Download "Okta Verify" from the Apple App Store
- Android: Download "Okta Verify" from the Google Play Store
Step 2: Enroll Okta Verify
- Sign in to My.Westcliff using your username and password
- You will see a prompt to set up Okta Verify
- Click "Set up" or "Configure" when prompted
- A QR code will appear on your screen
- Open the Okta Verify app on your mobile device
- Tap "Add Account" (or the + icon)
- Tap "Organization" or "Scan QR Code"
- Point your camera at the QR code on your computer screen
- Once scanned, your account will be added to Okta Verify
- Click "Finish" or "Done" on the computer screen
Step 3: Verify Setup
- The next time you sign in to My.Westcliff, you'll receive a push notification on your mobile device
- Tap the notification and select "Approve" to complete authentication
Switching to a New Device
If you get a new phone or need to reinstall Okta Verify:
- Download Okta Verify on your new device
- Sign in to My.Westcliff
- Follow the enrollment prompts to set up Okta Verify on your new device
- Your old device will automatically be deactivated once the new one is configured
